Artist growth guide
How to Sell Art on Your Own Domain
An owned domain turns your artist site into a long-term asset instead of another rented profile.
Why the domain matters
A custom domain makes your studio easier to remember, easier to cite in press, and less dependent on social or marketplace algorithms.
Collectors also read a domain as a trust signal. It tells them they are dealing with the artist or studio directly.
The storefront checklist
Publish your best available work, show accurate pricing, explain shipping expectations, and make contact easy. Buyers should not need to message three different accounts to learn whether a piece is available.
- Use high-quality artwork images.
- Write concrete descriptions: medium, size, year, edition, and framing status.
- Connect payments when ready, or provide a clear purchase-help path in lead-capture mode.
- Add links to pricing and features so buyers understand how the storefront works.
Direct-sale economics
Direct storefront sales keep fee math predictable: 5% platform fee plus Stripe's typical 2.9% + 30 cents. Compared with 35% to 50% marketplace economics, that can materially change profit per artwork.
